The legendary Motorola Razr is back! But now it’s not the same mobile phone that you used before. Now, the new Motorola Razr is an Android smartphone that can fold in half. Yes, you read it right. It’s a modern spin on the iconic flip phone.
Motorola Razr, a foldable Android smartphone
The Motorola Razr 2019 keeps the same general form factor from the original Razr V3 that launced in 2004, but replaces the T9 keypad and small LCD with a 6.2-inch foldable plastic OLED panel and Android 9 Pie.
Instead of turning a modern-sized phone into a smaller tablet, it turns a conventional-sized smartphone into something much smaller and more pocketable. The smartphone is quite a bit wider and longer than you’d imagine. It’s a full-fledged smartphone screen – not a miniature imitation.
The smartphone fits in your palm and your pocket
The new Razr is really handy and the size is just perfect for you to handle it with one hand. The small footprint is what makes the phone extra special. The large screen when you fold it allows you to check notifications or glance at the time, without the need to flip it. It is much easier than tugging a smartphone out of your pocket or bag.
The return of the flip phone
There’s no denying that flipping a phone open and snapping it closed is (to end a call) is so fun to do. Remember the dramatic phone call hang up in the 90’s romcom movie? Well, it’s kinda entertaining to see it.
The new Motorola Razr is worth checking out
No doubt, the new Razr 2019 is enjoyable to use, but it’s also expensive – costing three times the launch price of the Moto Z4. Motorola has officially announced the release of the new 2019 Razr. It’s only available to the general masses in January 2020 and it costs RM6,200.
It is a bold experiment – an innovative new direction that smartphones could follow. The phone is a big nostalgia for all of us. Hello Moto!
