With a name like MyPay, one may think this is another e-wallet for the Malaysian market. The fact is, MyPay is an online Malaysian government services platform combining information from various agencies for the ease of citizens.
Paying off any dues to government agencies can be a time-consuming and frustrating process. Indeed, most government agencies are available online no, but MyPay aims to provide a platform that gathers all agencies to cut the hassle.
1. Offer a one-stop platform

Five key areas of services that MyPay covers include information check-up such as license expiry and election location, student loan checking and payment, local council and police summons, assessment and quit rent and insolvency.
User only need to key in IC number and MyPay will pull data from various government agencies and display it to you on your MyPay dashboard. Then, users directly make payment to the agencies.
2. A counter-free payment concept

3. Officially released in January 2019

This app is officially released in late January 2019. The best part of this app is, MyPay is a free platform with zero charges for checking information using its service. However, there are transaction fees ranging between RM0.50 to RM1 when you use MyPay to make payment for the supported agencies.
4. A product by Dapat Vista (M) Sdn Bhd

Dapat Vista (M) Sdn Bhd is a company which has been involved in government SMS services for the past 10 years, They are the one behind the SMS short code 15888 if you remember.
5. The team behind the app

The team consists of CEO Nick Liew, CTO Joshua Smith and the launcher Shairazi Sulastry. Nick Liew has had ten years of experience in business and served as an early member of the Uber Malaysia team as Head of Strategy and Planning.
The co-founder Joshua Smith also has a vast background of experience in tech. In 2015, he then joined Uber Malaysia as Lead of the Analytics Team. Before joining MyPay, he was the Chief Data Officer at TheLorry.

The team mentioned that in order to make the platform more secure, they will be implementing a Know-Your-Customer feature where it’s required to take a picture of the user’s IC and a selfie during the registration process.
