You make plans, start a business, see signs of progress, maybe even a little success. Overall, your new venture and life are looking good and you have high hopes for the future.
Then something blindsides you. Now tomorrow feels like it’s just not going to get any better. And it doesn’t. And then things start slowing down, down, down… and you begin to feel like nothing is going forward.
From the moment you wake up until you are back in the comfort of your bed (because that’s the only place you wished to be every moment of your life), that spark within you has been replaced by a sort of feeling of uselessness to a stage where it seems pointless even if you do anything.
If that sounds like what you’re going through, and you could use a little helpful nudge to keep pushing forward, here are four powerful reminders for when your dream appears out of reach.
1. Yesterday is yesterday. You can become a new person today.
Sometimes, it’s not what you’re going through now but memories of the past which hold you back. In fact, it is not the present that looks dim but the belief that you’re going to screw things up again.
Every great success story could have thought that same way. In fact, many who could have been successful did – and that’s the reason why they are still where there are 5 years ago.
Don’t believe what you’re telling yourself. The past is behind you and you’re stronger for having gone through it. Today is a new day, start living like it and put the past where it belongs.
2. Reevaluate your WHY
WHY are you doing what you’re doing? WHY do you work towards your dream each day? WHY is it important for you to accomplish your dream?
Whatever it is that you want, it must be clear, so much so that you can taste, smell, and hear it in your mind, and it must be so powerful that it makes you enthusiastic to wake up each morning.
Find your WHY and you’ll gain the upper-hand in life. Let it be an impenetrable defense against self-doubt and struggle.

3. The real enemy is between your ears.
When you’re working towards a goal, the real challenge is in what lies between your ears – the mind.
More often than not, everything we experience, whether good or bad, is predetermined within the mind.
For that reason, it is important to start empowering your mind with positivity, knowledge, and wisdom. Only then can you overcome virtually anything.
4. The best thing happens when you least expected.
It’s normal when setting a big goal to also envision how it will come to realisation. Unfortunately, it rarely happens that way.
The reality is far more depressing. When something occurs that stops us from achieving our goal the original way we imagined it, we’re expected to continue to believe, push forward, and hope a new path unveils itself.
It could be God testing your faith or an unforeseen power altering a new path in which you so happened to be in. For all you know, there may or may not be something else at play here. However, it’s unquestionable that the world works in mysterious ways. The point is, any time we try to act like we know best, or can predict the future, we’re normally proven wrong.
It’s easy to get attached to a particular resolution. But the path unveils itself when you least expect it, so push on and allow a little reinvention when necessary. What matters is that you get there, so don’t become attached to one way of obtaining it.
