It is a known fact that Hublot aims for horological world domination with the release of every new model of timepiece. In Malaysia, the watchmaker has made a marked presence since the beginning, charming local collectors and gaining life-time fans through its decorum as well as ingenuity in the mechanics. Here is a quick list we’ve put together to help you decide on your next Hublot.
For The Globetrotter – Hublot Big Bang Unico GMT
With a simple push of a button, the Hublot Big Bang Unico GMT is the ultimate de facto watch that helps you to keep track of your time zones while you embark on your globetrotting adventures.
With its trademark creativity, Hublot has simplified the use of a complex complication, the GMT, enabling the second time zone to be updated instantly by a push of the button. This allows the local time to be read easily via the conventional main hand of the watch while the time at home is indicated using a second arrow-shaped hour hand, which integrates a day/night indicator and is set using the crown.
In a 45 mm case, the Big Bang Unico GMT is available in a titanium or carbon fibre version, on a structured, ribbed black and blue natural rubber strap. Both versions are equipped with the ingenious ‘One Click’ interchangeable strap system and beat at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, boasting a 72-hour power reserve.
For The Golfer (In You) – Big Bang Unico Golf
Sport-themed timepieces may be aplenty but there aren’t many that draw inspiration from the ultimate precision sport – golf. Proving to be a visionary, Hublot has designed, developed, manufactured and assembled a module to equip its new UNICO movement which has been specifically created for golf. The MHUB1580 movement allows golfers to seamlessly calculate their score whilst on course, a key point of the mechanical watch alongside features like aperture displays and ultra-light weight.
The Big Bang Unico Golf was designed in collaboration with Dustin Sohn, the Major Champion at US Open 2016.
For The Cool Guy – Classic Fusion Fuente Limited Edition
With this timepiece, Hublot pays tribute to the unmatched artisanal work of the cigar maker Arturo Fuente with limited edition models of the emblematic Classic Fusion model. The partnership came to be during the centenary of Arturo Fuente cigars in 2012 and has since culminated in various charitable initiatives to help the Dominican population through the Fuente Family Foundation.
Using the famous Classic Fusion 45-mm diameter case, the first of the three models in the series comes in King Gold, a unique alloy combining gold and ceramic. Made from this precious material, the case, bezel and crown are finely engraved, paying tribute to the Fuente house. The case presents a drawing of tobacco leaves whereas the bezel reproduces a motif reminiscent of the earthenware tiles adorning the floors of the old colonial houses of Havana and incorporating the letter X, emblem of the Fuente family.
The second variation has sublime livery in brushed titanium while the third version uses bronze. All three editions will be fitted with the HUB1112 calibre.
